What this policy covers

This policy covers interstellargateway.com and the staging site IGW publishes it from. It does not cover YouTube, X, Discord or anywhere else IGW publishes. Those are other companies' services, they set their own terms, and they collect their own data about you when you go there.

What this site does not do

Most of what a privacy policy normally has to explain does not apply here, and that is worth saying plainly rather than burying.

• IGW uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser and builds no profile of you across sites. It reports page views, referrers, country, browser, device type and page-timing measurements, in aggregate. There is no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no product analytics and no session recording.

• There is no advertising, and there are no advertising pixels or trackers. Google AdSense was removed from the site on 4 September 2026 and nothing replaced it.

• IGW sets no advertising or tracking cookies, builds no profile of you, and does not sell or rent personal information. Hosting, form-delivery and security services process information as described below.

• Nothing on the site is personalised. Every visitor is served the same page.

Pages load scripts, fonts and images from Google’s public library host and Webflow’s asset network. Some features also contact the public-data, media, map or form-security services described below. The services contacted depend on the page and feature you use.

Depending on the feature, pages read saved IGW snapshots or contact the public sources identified on the Methodology page. When your browser contacts a source directly, that source receives your network address and browser information. IGW does not add a visitor identifier to those public-data requests. IGW’s saved orbital catalogue and the launch-notices calendar and RSS feeds are stored with Cloudflare and delivered from its network. A calendar or feed reader you subscribe with requests those feeds on its own schedule. The launch-notices map requests tiles and fonts from OpenFreeMap when you open that page. These delivery services receive the request information needed to serve the content.

Cookies and embedded players

IGW does not use its own advertising or tracking cookies. The notices tool saves the time of your last visit in this browser’s local storage to identify notices that are new to you; that marker stays on your device.

Some film pages embed the YouTube player. Loading an embedded player contacts YouTube, and Google may receive your network address, browser information and the page you were on, and may use cookies under its own privacy policy. IGW does not receive that information. Opening a film directly on IGW’s YouTube channel also contacts YouTube and is governed by Google’s privacy policy.

The store catalogue is refreshed from the IGW shop every thirty minutes. Product images load from Shopify’s image network, which receives the network address and browser information needed to serve them. Checkout opens on the separate IGW shop when you choose to buy.

What IGW collects

Forms collect the information you choose to send. Hosting and form-security services also process the technical request information described in this policy.

The contact form

Your name, email address, organisation if you give one, a subject, and your message. It is used to answer you and to route the enquiry to the right person at IGW.

The media licensing enquiry

Your name and email address, the production or publication, the footage or photograph you are asking about, the territory, the licence term, your deadline, any exclusivity requirement, and whatever you write in the usage details. It is used to answer the enquiry and to prepare an agreement if one follows.

The email signup

The signup field collects a name and an email address, and stores them alongside the other form submissions.

IGW has not yet connected the signup to a mailing provider, so nothing is sent to an address that signs up today. When a provider is connected, this section will name it, say where the address is stored, what is sent and how to unsubscribe, before the first message goes out.

Form security and spam checks

The contact and licensing forms include a hidden field to help detect automated submissions. Webflow also filters submitted form data for spam. When its bot protection runs, Cloudflare Turnstile processes security signals such as your network address, browser information and the site being visited. Cloudflare uses those signals to detect bots and improve its bot detection, as described in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. IGW uses these checks to protect its forms.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Webflow. Serving any page to you necessarily involves your network address, your browser and the address you asked for reaching the host, and a hosting provider processes that request data to deliver the page and keep the service up. IGW has no analytics view of it and does not use it to identify you.

Why it is held, and for how long

IGW holds what you send in order to answer it and to keep a record of the exchange.

• Business enquiries and licensing requests are kept for 24 months from the last message in the exchange, and are then deleted.

• Where a licensing enquiry becomes a signed agreement, the agreement is a contract record and is kept for as long as IGW's contract and tax obligations require, rather than under the 24-month rule.

• You can ask for what IGW holds about you to be deleted sooner than that. Your rights are below.

Who else handles it

IGW is a small company, and the list is short.

• Webflow hosts the site and receives and stores form submissions. IGW reads inquiries through Webflow, and form notifications are configured for IGW’s contact address. Webflow’s form security uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help detect automated submissions. No mailing-list or marketing integration is connected to these forms.

• Google's public library host and Webflow's asset network serve parts of the page itself to your browser: a script, the fonts, the images.

• For features that contact a public spaceflight source directly, that source receives the browser request. Features using saved IGW snapshots fetch them from IGW’s site or storage delivery service instead. The Methodology page identifies each source and how it is read.

• There is no newsletter provider, no customer relationship system, no advertising network and no analytics vendor.

This site does not take payments. The IGW shop is a separate site at shop.interstellargateway.com, and what happens there is governed by that shop's own terms rather than by this page.

The store. The store pages on this site read the IGW shop's public catalogue and show it; they do not collect anything from you. When you buy, you are handed to the shop, which runs on Shopify at shop.interstellargateway.com. From that point Shopify processes your order and payment details under the shop's own privacy policy, and IGW sees what a merchant sees: the order, the shipping address and the contact details you gave the shop. This site does not receive them.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom

IGW is the controller for what this site collects. You have the right to ask for a copy of what is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent where you gave it.

The legal basis is IGW's legitimate interest in answering an enquiry you chose to send. Where a licensing enquiry is a step towards an agreement, it is the performance of a contract at your request. Where you opt in to a mailing list, once one exists, it will be consent.

You can complain to your national data protection authority. In the United Kingdom that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

IGW is a United States company and the platform that stores form submissions is a United States company, so anything you send through a form is processed in the United States.

If you are in California

The information you choose to submit through a form includes identifiers, meaning your name and email address; commercial information, in a licensing enquiry; and the contents of your message. Those form records are used for the purposes and kept for the periods described above. Form-security services also process technical signals, including network address and browser information, as described in the form-security section and Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

IGW does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined by the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. There is no behavioural advertising on this site because there is no advertising and no tracking at all, so there is nothing for an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control to switch off.

You have the right to know what is collected and to receive a copy of it, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, to opt out of sale or sharing, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. IGW does not collect sensitive personal information through this site. IGW will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

How to exercise a right

Use the contact page and say what you want. IGW will verify the request against what it already holds, usually by replying to the address the enquiry came from, and will answer within 30 days, or within 45 days for a California request, extending only where the law allows and telling you if it does. You may use an authorised agent.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and IGW does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent IGW something through a form, say so through the contact page and it will be deleted.

Security

Form submissions sit in the platform that hosts the site, reachable through accounts IGW controls. No system is perfect and IGW will not claim otherwise. If IGW learns of a breach affecting personal information it will notify the people affected, and any regulator that has to be told, as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. IGW will not change it quietly.
