IGW's work

The films, photography, writing, design, illustrations and code published here are the original work of Interstellar Gateway, LLC and are protected by copyright.

IGW holds registrations with the United States Copyright Office for its films and photography. Its trademarks INTERSTELLAR GATEWAY, IGW and 33LIGHTS are the subject of pending applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and are not yet registered. Registration numbers are not listed on this page; IGW will supply them where they are relevant to a licensing or enforcement matter. What you may do without asking

• Link to any page on this site.

• Quote a short passage of IGW's writing, with a credit to IGW and a link to the page it came from.

• Embed an IGW film using the player YouTube provides, on the terms YouTube sets.

• Use a single still or a short clip in genuine news reporting, commentary, criticism or teaching where that use is fair use, with a visible credit to IGW.

Anything beyond that needs a licence: broadcast, documentary, commercial and advertising use, stock supply, machine-learning training, or any redistribution of the footage or photography itself.

What you may not do

• Re-upload IGW footage or photography to any platform as your own, or as an unlicensed copy.

• Remove, crop out or obscure IGW's watermark or credit.

• Use IGW's name, logo or marks in a way that suggests IGW endorsed, sponsored or supplied something it did not.

• Use IGW material to train a machine-learning model without a written licence.

• Copy this site's code, design or data presentation wholesale.

Licensing

Rights are granted by written agreement only. Start on the licensing page and say what you want to use, where it will appear, in what territory and for how long.

Prints. Buying a print from the IGW store buys the physical print. It does not transfer copyright in the photograph and grants no right to reproduce, scan, redistribute or sell copies of it; those rights stay with IGW and are licensed separately, through the media licensing page.

Reporting material you believe infringes your copyright

If you own a copyright and believe something published on this site infringes it, send a written notice containing all of the following. This is what a notice has to contain under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. section 512(c)(3).

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of someone authorised to act for them.

• Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed, or a representative list of the works if one notice covers several.

• Identification of the material you say is infringing and enough information to find it. A URL is best.

• Your address, telephone number and email address.

• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.

• A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner.

Misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees, under 17 U.S.C. section 512(f). If you are not sure whether a use infringes, take advice before sending a notice.

IGW reviews every complete notice it receives. Where it removes or disables access to material, it will make a reasonable effort to tell whoever published it.

Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice containing all of the following, as 17 U.S.C. section 512(g)(3) requires.

• Your physical or electronic signature.

• Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before it was removed.

• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.

• Your name, address and telephone number, a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where you live, or of any district in which IGW may be found if you are outside the United States, and a statement that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice or from their agent.

IGW will forward a complete counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice.

Designated agent

IGW has not designated an agent with the United States Copyright Office, which is a separate filing from any copyright or trademark registration, and so this page names no designated agent and claims no DMCA safe-harbour protection. Notices are handled through the process above.

This site does not host material uploaded by the public. If that ever changes, a repeat-infringer policy will be published here before it does.
